This week’s featured Military camping facility is the Shields RV Park on Gulfport Naval Construction Battalion Center! Located on the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast near twenty-six miles of white sandy beaches, two miles from downtown Gulfport, this is one of the best kept secrets and should be on your bucket list.
The RV Park offers 103 hardstand sites, featuring 53 pull-thru and 50 back-in, with water, 20-30-50 AMP electric, sewer, as well as some overflow sites with no hookups. The sites can accommodate up to a 45' RV. You'll also find a dump station, Wi-Fi, on-site coin operated laundry, and ADA bathrooms and showers. Two leashed pets are allowed per site, but some restrictions may apply. The park is open year-round! This RV Park is within walking distance to the Seabee Lake, Dog Park, The Grill, Batting Cage, and the Navy Community Recreation Outdoor Rental Center.
Keesler Air Force Base, approximately 12 miles from the campsite, offers a commissary, an exchange, equipment rental, fishing, and much more. Feel like a round of golf? Bay Breeze Golf Course on Keesler AFB is a great place to play.
