Pine View Campground at Fort McCoy, WI | Featured Military Camping Facility

This week's featured Military camping facility is the Pine View Campground at Fort McCoy in Wisconsin. Fort McCoy is about a hundred miles northwest of Madison, WI. Campground is nestled between Sparta, WI, and Tomah, WI.


The campground is quite large, and offers over 100RV full hookup sites with water, 30/50A electric, and sewer, as well as some RV sites that have only 30/50A electric, and RV sites with no hookups.

The recreation area also offers yurts, cabins, trailers and duplexes. The Lakeside/Eastside cabins are equipped with full kitchen (refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee pot, pots/pans, dishes, table and chairs), living room, TV w/cable, private bathroom, bed linens, bath towels, washcloths and air conditioning/heat. The Duplex has same features but does not include a stove. Eastside log cabins also have a gas fireplace, and pet friendly cabins available for an additional $75 fee.

This facility is open year-round for cabins; campsites are available May - November. The campground is pet friendly, but some restrictions apply. This campground also has plenty of things to do. You'll find mini golf, a dog park, 9 hole disc course, playgrounds, biking and hiking trails, horseshoes, volleyball and basketball courts, and more! You can even rent paddleboards, canoes and kayaks.


Pine View Campground is less than a mile from White Tail Ridge Ski Area, a premier place for downhill ski and cross-country skiers. In addition, White Tail Ridge has seven snow tubing runs: an 800 ft long slope with a "magic carpet lift" to get you back up.


Avid Summer campers can enjoy the convenience of the lake, from kayaking to exploring. Winter sports enthusiasts will enjoy the proximity of a ski resort. Pine View Recreation Area at Fort McCoy will have everyone planning for adventurous vacations!
