This week's featured Military camping facility is the Mid-Bay Shores Recreation Area in Florida! Mid-Bay Shores Maxwell/Gunter Recreation Area is halfway between Pensacola, FL, and Panama City Beach, about eleven miles northeast of Destin, FL.
Formerly called Lake Pippin, this recreation area is a perfect mix of white sandy beaches and excellent dining and shopping. The park offers 19 RV sites full hookups with W/30,50A/S, 7 partial hookups with W/30,50A, and also sites with no hookups. In addition, the Mid-Bay Shores Recreation area offers tent sites with no hookups and 24 bungalows and 5 mobile homes with full hookups. Pets are allowed at the campsites, fees and restrictions apply. Pets are not permitted in cabin rentals, on the beach, or in the water and in all other areas must remain on leash.
The park is open year-round, and the recreation area offers showers, a laundry facility, a beach, a fishing pier, boat launch, and a fitness center. There is also free Wi-Fi available throughout the park.
Although it's still summer, you can begin planning some fall and winter trips by adding this RV park to your must-visit list as the perfect getaway!
