Little Rock AFB FamCamp, AR | Featured Military Camping Facility

Situated 20 miles north of Little Rock, AR, inside Little Rock Air Force Base is the lovely Little Rock AFB FamCamp! This campground is perfect for exploring central Arkansas and is open year-round.


The Little Rock AFB FamCamp offers 36 RV pads with W/20, 30, 50A/S hook-ups. Leashed pets are allowed in the campground as long as they are up to date on their shots. FamCamp amenities include a laundry facility, a bathhouse, boat rentals, a picnic area, a tent area, hiking trails and much more. Outdoor recreation also rents various equipment and games.


Little Rock Air Force Base facilities include a commissary, a base exchange, library, bowling center, an ITT office, base swimming pool, fitness & sports center, gas station, and more.



Feel like exploring the area? There are plenty of things to do and see in the surrounding area. Here are some suggestions:

  1. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum: Located in Little Rock, about 20 minutes from LRAFB, this museum features exhibits on the life and presidency of Bill Clinton, as well as a replica of the Oval Office and a collection of gifts given to the President.

  2. Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site: Another historic site in Little Rock, this school was the site of the desegregation crisis in the 1950s and is now a museum and national historic site.

  3. Arkansas State Capitol: Take a guided tour of the historic Capitol building and learn about the state's history and government.

  4. River Market District: This vibrant district in Little Rock features a variety of restaurants, bars, and shops, as well as a farmers' market on Saturdays.

  5. Pinnacle Mountain State Park: Located just west of Little Rock, this park offers hiking trails, picnic areas, and stunning views of the surrounding countryside.

  6. Lake Maumelle: A popular spot for boating, fishing, and swimming, Lake Maumelle is about 20 minutes from LRAFB.

  7. Old Mill Museum: Located in North Little Rock, this museum showcases the history of the area's textile industry and features a restored 19th-century gristmill.

  8. Arkansas Arts Center: This museum in Little Rock features a variety of art exhibits, as well as a children's museum and a theater.

  9. War Memorial Stadium: Catch a Little Rock Travelers baseball game or a concert at this historic stadium.

  10. Hot Springs National Park: While a bit farther away (about an hour and a half from LRAFB), Hot Springs National Park is a must-see for its natural hot springs, historic bathhouses, and scenic hiking trails.

  11. Lake Conway: A popular spot for fishing and boating, Lake Conway is about 30 minutes from LRAFB.

  12. Museum of Discovery: This children's museum in Little Rock features interactive exhibits on science, history, and technology.

  13. Arkansas Zoological Gardens: Home to over 200 species of animals, the Arkansas Zoo is a great place to visit with family or friends.

  14. Little Rock River Rail Market: This historic train depot turned market features local produce, meats, and baked goods, as well as a restaurant and bar.

  15. Golfing: There are several golf courses in the area, including the Little Rock Country Club and the Pinnacle Country Club.
