Coyote Run RV Park & Campground, UT | Featured Military Camping Facility

This week’s featured camping facility is Coyote Run RV Park and Campground, which is about an hour and a half drive southwest of Salt Lake City, UT, on Dugway proving ground.

The park’s administrative needs are handled at Shocklee Fitness and Outdoor Recreation Center. The campground offers 33 sites, 20 sites with W/E hookups, and 13 dry camp spots. The campground is located West of English Village on 4th and 5th street. Full hookup sites have a picnic table, firepit ring and are fully paved with room for parking.  The 13 dry camp spots sit on the outskirts of 5th St, which offer a beautiful sunset view. A dump station is located on Stark Rd (temporary key provided). Leashed dogs are allowed. The spots are first come first serve, but you may make reservations up to 30 days in advance and must be prepaid.

Unfortunately, hookup sites are usually used for long-term occupants. If you are interested in staying at the park, occupants must fill out an RV storage or campground agreement before their stay. For a long-term stay, a deposit is required. For a short-term stay, the total amount of the visit must be paid before the stay and is non-refundable.

The base is very secluded and does not offer many sites to visit, but it does provide a commissary, a gym and an exchange.

This small oasis is on the edge of the Great Salt Lake Desert, stretching over 4,000 square miles between three different mountain ranges. Only small, rare kinds of plants will grow in a place with a sparse 8 inches of rain all year. When night falls, there are no city lights to hamper the naked-eye visibility of all the stars! Check with Salt Lake City local news to join with Star Parties.
