Camp Carlson Army Recreational Area, KY | Featured Military Camping Facility

Camp Carlson Army Recreational Area is ten minutes northwest of Fort Knox, KY. The Recreation Area is on 65 acres of natural beauty, hiking and nature trails, as well as a 25-acre lake filled with a wide array of fish. Pavilions and playground areas are also available.


Camp Carlson offers a total of 56 recreational vehicle sites that have water, electric and sewer hookups with 35 and 50amp. All sites are gravel pads located in well-shaded areas and are within walking distance of the 24-hour laundry, shower and bathroom facilities.

RV sites have a stay limit of 90 consecutive days. You'll also find unlimited tent sites with no hook-ups, and 2 pets are allowed per campsite. Some restrictions apply.


Newly added is 8 BRAND NEW furnished family cottages, ranging from 2 bedroom-3 bedroom, that sleep 4-6 or 6-8 people. There are also group cabins that will sleep up to 16 people, as well. Please note customers must supply their own bedlinens and towels.



The campground provides a dump station for $2. Showers and laundry facilities are also on-site. The campground is open year-round. A full range of support facilities are available at Fort Knox Army post.
