Tinker Air Force Base, OK | Featured Military Space-A Air Terminal of the Week

Did you know that Tinker AFB, OK, offers limited space-a flights to and from Guam or Hawaii and more? Recent flights include Hawaii, Kadena AB in Okinawa, Louisville, KY, and Buffalo, NY.


Tinker AFB is located southeast of Oklahoma City, OK. The base is about ten miles from the city center and fifteen miles from the Will Rogers World Airport.


Tinker AFB passenger terminal amenities include a family and general lounge combined. (open only during daytime), restrooms, telephone, and TV. Unfortunately, the terminal does not have any vending machines.


Tinker AFB's main exchange is located by the base visitor center about three miles north of the Passenger Terminal.

There are plenty of things to do near Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Here are some suggestions:


  1. National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum: Located about 10 minutes from the base, this museum showcases the art, history, and culture of the American West.

  2. Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum: This memorial honors the victims of the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing and features a beautiful garden and museum.

  3. Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden: Home to over 2,000 animals, the zoo also features a botanical garden and a variety of events and exhibits.

  4. Science Museum Oklahoma: This science museum offers interactive exhibits, a planetarium, and a giant screen theater.

  5. Myriad Botanical Gardens: These beautiful gardens feature over 15 acres of gardens, a children's garden, and a variety of plant species.

  6. Oklahoma City Dodgers Baseball: Catch a minor league baseball game at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

  7. Bricktown Entertainment District: This popular entertainment district offers a variety of restaurants, bars, and nightlife options.

  8. Oklahoma City Thunder Basketball: Catch an NBA game at the Chesapeake Energy Arena.

  9. Oklahoma City Museum of Art: This museum features a diverse collection of American and European art, as well as rotating exhibits.

  10. Stockyards City: This historic district is home to a variety of shops, restaurants, and attractions, including a cattle auction market.

  11. Oklahoma City Farmers Market: Every Saturday morning, the Oklahoma City Farmers Market offers fresh produce, baked goods, and local crafts.

  12. Martin Park Nature Center: This nature preserve features hiking trails, a playground, and a variety of wildlife.

  13. Oklahoma City Repertory Theatre: This professional theater company produces a variety of plays and musicals throughout the year.

  14. Science Discovered!: This interactive science center offers hands-on exhibits and activities for kids.

  15. Oklahoma City's Automobile Alley: This historic district is home to a variety of car dealerships, antique shops, and restaurants.
