RS-25 Engine Display
July 21 – September 2 | In-Person
NASA’s Space Launch System – the most powerful rocket in the world – will be powered by RS-25 engines that combine proven performance with advanced engineering and technology. Four RS-25 engines will help power Artemis II, the first crewed mission of NASA’s Artemis missions.
As part of the Intrepid Museum’s special exhibition Apollo: When We Went to the Moon, a full-scale replica of the RS-25 Engine will be on display at the Museum on Pier 86 from July 21 through September 2. Visitors can get an up-close look and learn more about this powerful engine.
Free Friday featuring Astronomy Night and Summer
Movie Series

Get ready for an unforgettable evening at the Intrepid Museum on Friday, July 26. From 5:00pm–9:00pm, enjoy free admission and exciting events during our Free Fridays, featuring the popular Summer Movie Series and Astronomy Night as part of our Astro Live Series. Meet Artemis Launch Director Charlie Blackwell Thompson and learn more about the groundbreaking goals of NASA's Artemis missions, including landing the first woman and person of color on the Moon. Cap off the night with stunning views of the Hudson River and skyline as you watch First Man on the flight
deck—the movie starts at sunset! American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation will be provided for all presentations. The movie will have open captions.
