If you like fishing, you’ll love Wylie. Originally a rural farming community, Wylie is now a small town of public open spaces. Over a half-dozen parks dot the community, with a major lake on both the north and south end. To the north, there’s the 21,000 acre Lake Lavon.
Wylie features an excellent water park and several golf courses, for some other outdoor activities. Forth Worth Naval Air Station is within the average distance for this region of the country, about 68 miles away. Plano is about 18 miles away, which hosts the nearest VA medical facility.
