This week's featured Military Lodging facility is the Ward Lodge, located at Camp Pendleton in California. Camp Pendleton is a United States Marine Corps base is situated along the Pacific coast, located in San Diego County, California. It is approximately 38 miles (61 km) north of downtown San Diego, and about 10 miles (16 km) south of the city of Oceanside.
The Ward Lodge offers rooms with King beds, single or double Queen beds with or without kitchens, 2-bedroom houses, as well as 16 pet friendly accommodations! Amenities include High-Speed Internet Access, refrigerator, microwave, flat screen TV/cable, kitchenettes that include cooking/dining utensils and a coffee maker w/ free coffee. Hotel amenities include a laundry facility, playground, a dog run, picnic area w/ BBQ grills, and nearby shopping and dining.

Take a tour of the base: The base offers guided tours that take you through the various facilities and units, including the 1st Marine Division, the Marine Corps Aviation, and the Marine Corps History.
Visit the Camp Pendleton Farmers Market: The base has a weekly farmers market that features local produce, crafts, and food vendors.
Go fishing: The base has several fishing spots, including the "San Onofre Creek" which is a popular spot for surf fishing.
Take a photography tour: The base has several scenic spots that are perfect for photography, including the "O'Neill Lake" and the "San Onofre State Beach".
