Victory Pond and Weems Pond on Fort Benning are this week’s featured camping & RV getaways. This recreation area has a lot to offer to campers, from great fishing to dog parks, disc golf to gazebo rentals. Victory Pond and Weems Pond are excellent for quiet getaways, but they’d also be perfect spots for family gatherings.
Both ponds house a few varieties of fish, including bass, brim, catfish and crappie. Those looking to fish are welcome to buy a fishing permit and rent equipment at Outdoor Recreation, conveniently located on base. Fort Benning is also home to a dog park, a disc golf course, bike and hiking trails, and a fitness trail. Additionally, this base has two paintball parks and a golf course. In short, there are plenty of activities for visitors to Victory Pond and Weems Pond at Fort Benning. Be mindful that these recreation areas are often used for training exercises or competitions as pictured below, and please respect the space of service members who may be training!

The facilities offered to campers at Victory Pond and Weems Pond include primitive spaces for tents. The campground is open year round. Pets are welcome, with some conditions- check the Fort Benning website for more details on how to make sure your furry friend will be able to enjoy the campground.
