Universal Orlando announced that construction had begun for Epic Universe, a long-rumored fourth park that executives promise to “forever changes theme park entertainment.” The massive new park is the company’s first new property since the water park Volcano Bay opened in May 2017. CEO Tom Williams said Epic Universe is the “most immersive and innovative theme park” in its lineup, which also includes Universal Studios Orlando and Islands of Adventure. Officials did not speculate on a tentative opening date.
