McConnell Air Force Base, KS | Featured Military Space-A Air Terminal of the Week

Did you know that McConnell Air Force Base Space-A in Kansas has normal scheduled flights that serve Mildenhall, UK, MacDill AFB FL, Hickam AFB HI, Travis AFB CA, Fairchild AFB WA, and Elmendorf AFB AK? As recently as August 1st, McConnell AFB flew to RAF Mildenhall in the UK. In flight meals are offered to passengers when the flight is longer than 3 hours.

McConnell Air Force Base is located in Wichita, Kansas. Here are some things to do near the base:

  4. Visit the Kansas Aviation Museum: The Kansas Aviation Museum is located about 20 minutes from the base and showcases the history of aviation in Kansas.

  5. Go hiking at the Chisholm Creek Trail: The Chisholm Creek Trail is a 12-mile trail that runs along the Chisholm Creek and offers scenic views and opportunities for hiking and biking.

  6. Take a tour of the Coleman Factory: The Coleman Factory is located about 20 minutes from the base and offers tours of the factory where Coleman lanterns and camping gear are made.

  7. Visit the Old Cowtown Museum: Old Cowtown Museum is a living history museum that showcases life in Wichita during the late 1800s and is located about 20 minutes from the base.

  8. Go shopping at the Towne East Square: The Towne East Square is a shopping mall located about 10 minutes from the base and features a variety of stores and restaurants.

  9. Take a trip to the nearby city of Hutchinson: Hutchinson is about 30 minutes from the base and offers a variety of attractions, including the Kansas State Fairgrounds and the Cosmosphere.

  10. Visit the Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum: The Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum is located about 10 minutes from the base and features exhibits on the history of Wichita and Sedgwick County.
