This week’s featured camping is Jim Creek Wilderness Recreation Area in WA.
The Jim Creek Wilderness Recreation Area is an excellent destination for those wanting to explore the great outdoors! It’s located within the foothills of the North Cascade Mountains, only 20 minutes outside of Arlington, WA, and 60 miles north of Seattle.
The area features nearly 5,000 acres, which includes 225 acres of old-growth forest, 70 acres of lakes, miles of hiking trails, and several streams.
Jim Creek Wilderness Recreation Area camping offers 16 RV sites with W/30/50A/S that can accommodate RVs up to 45ft long. Shower and restroom facilities are within easy walking distance. The campground is open year round, with winter season (Oct 1-Apr 30) having limited on-site services. The campground also offers 25 various sized camping cabins with water and electric, sleeping between 4-6 people, and nearby restrooms and showers. There are also deluxe steelhead cabins that can sleep up to seven guests. Each has two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, loft, living and dining rooms. They are fully equipped with linens and kitchenware. Newly renovated Bobcat and Bear Dens are apartment-style accommodations, offering privacy and amenities, including linens and kitchenware. Both are located near the Lodge and are pet-friendly.
Pets are welcome in all standard cabins, RV and tent sites at no charge. The Dens and Deluxe Cabins allow pets for an additional fee per night. The Deluxe Steelhead Cabins, Lodge, and Mallard RV Trailers do not allow pets.
Activities include camping, fishing, boat rentals, hiking, an 18-hole disc golf course, an off-leash dog park, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, and an MWR store.
