Why There Are only 4 Passport Colors Worldwide

Did you ever wonder why there are only four passport colors worldwide? Or did you even notice? Well, there actually is a reason and much of the reasoning is based  on geography! For example, the blue passport ( the second most common and used in America) symbolizes  the “new world”. Interestingly, the United States only changed to the blue cover in 1976 as part of the Bicentennial celebration. Prior to 1976, U.S. passports were  red from 1926-1941 and then green from 1941-1976.
