The Best Places to See The Northern Lights

Where are the best places to see the Northern Lights? The Northern Lights can be found in the ‘aurora zone’ in the Northern Hemisphere. This is an area of 2,000-3,000 km from the magnetic pole. The closer you are to this region, the better your odds of glimpsing this stunning, natural display.

The best time to see the Northern Lights is during cold, dark nights with clear skies. While some regions of the world have sightings year-round, your odds are best during the winter when the nights are longer, colder, and clearer.

For your convenience, we’ve listed some Space-A locations below to help get you to get to “the Great, White North”. We’ve also included Military Lodging and camping locations that may save you some money when booking your stay.
