Travel + Leisure ~ “Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte announced Thursday that the country is working to extend its lockdown beyond its original April 3 end date.
‘The measures we have taken… must be extended beyond their original deadline,’ Conte told the Italian newspaper Corriere della Serra, according to The Local Italy.”
France, which currently has just over 9,000 cases of coronavirus, is also very likely to extend its lockdown, The Local France reported. Its measures, put in place last week, were intended to last 15 days. In a radio program Thursday morning, the director general of Santé Publique France said an extension of France’s home confinement rules would ‘very likely be necessary.” ~ Travel + Leisure
