Is your MacBook Pro allowed to fly? If you own a 15-inch MacBook Pro purchased between 2015 and 2017, there’s a chance it will no longer be allowed on aircraft thanks to a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) ban.
The FAA ban is in response to Apple’s voluntary recall of “a limited number” of 15-inch MacBook Pros, which it announced in June. The reason for the recall was faulty batteries and the risk they may overheat and catch fire.
